Behind every Ahead Building project is Kevin Hahn. With nearly two decades of experience as a qualified carpenter, Kevin as the Registered Builder has spent his career refining the intersection of technical precision and client experience.

My journey started on-site, with hammer in hand. Today, as a Director and long standing member of the Master Builders Association Victoria, I remain the primary face of every project. I believe the best builds happen when there is a direct line between the client, the architect, and the builder. No site managers or middle-men; just a shared commitment to building something exceptional.

Whether you are starting with a blank canvas or completed plans, we meet you where you are. We work to finalise designs and establish a transparent budget, handling the heavy lifting through to the contract.
Kevin personally oversees every major milestone, from excavation to the "Lock-Up" stage, ensuring the home reflects its true architectural form.
We focus on the interior finishes that characterise your home. Kevin often works alongside interior designers at this stage to ensure every fixture and finish is perfectly resolved.
Before keys are exchanged, we conduct a final quality check together to ensure every detail meets Kevin’s rigorous standards for your Occupancy Certificate.

How many builds do you undertake at once?

We intentionally limit our capacity to a maximum of two projects. Bespoke architecture requires complete precision, and by keeping our volume low, your home receives our undivided attention, in many cases your project may be our sole focus.

How do you manage budgets?

We utilise value engineering early in the process. For example, on a recent project, we identified $70,000 in savings by substituting materials while maintaining the intended high-end aesthetic.

Do you design and construct?

We are construction specialists who believe the best results come from early collaboration with architects. Rather than a "one-size-fits-all" design service, this approach allows you to work with your own architect/designers or one we recommend, while we provide the technical and financial oversight to ensure your vision is buildable.

Do you have consultants you can recommend?

What is your approach to communication?

We replace the unreliable builder reputation with proactive transparency. Kevin provides frequent updates so you always know exactly what is happening on-site giving you complete confidence that your project is leaping forward.

Do you do pools and landscaping?

Yes. We can include these in your fixed contract for a seamless handover managed by our Director. Alternatively, we can recommend specialist partners if you’d prefer these elements to be handled separately.

Can you build in high-risk zones?

Yes. We are experienced in regulatory requirements, such as BAL29 bushfire compliance, ensuring safety and functionality without compromising on style.
